Three Successive Bulgarian Dynasties That Cumans Founded

ENG-Three successive Bulgarian dynasties that Cumans founded (Asanids, Terterids, and Shishmanids) and the Basarabids of Wallachia. 


Part 1: 


Asanids (Asen Dynasty): The Asen dynasty (Bulgarian: Асеневци, Asenevtsi) founded and ruled a medieval Bulgarian state, called in modern historiography the Second Bulgarian Empire, between 1187 and 1256. The Asen dynasty rose as the leaders of Bulgaria after a rebellion against the Byzantine Empire at the turn of the year 1185/1186 caused by the increase in the Imperial taxes. The name of the dynasty comes from one of the 3 brothers that founded the dynasty, namely Asen I (Ivan Asen Belgun). The etymology is most likely of Cuman Turkic origin, derived from "esen" which meant "safe, sound, healthy" and the Belgun nickname seems to be derived from Turkic "bilgün", which meant "wise". As some of the names in the dynasty, including Asen, are derived from Cuman language. Groups of Cumans settled and mingled with the local population in many regions of the Balkans between the 10th and 13th centuries and founded also other successive Bulgarian dynasties. Asenler (Asen Hanedanı): Asen Hanedanı (Bulgarca: Асеневци, Asenevtsi) 1187’de kuruldu ve 1256’ya kadar ortaçağ Bulgar devleti olan İkinci Bulgar İmparatorluğu’nu yönetti. Asen Hanedanı, 1185/1186 yıllarında Bizans’ta yükselen vergiler nedeniyle çıkan isyandan sonra Bulgaristan’ın liderleri olarak yükselmişti. Hanedan’ın ismi hanedanlığı kuran 3 kardeşin birinden gelir, yani I. Asen (Ivan Asen Belgun). Etimolojisi büyük olasılıkla “güvenli, sağlam, sağlıklı” anlamına gelen “esen”den türeyen Kuman Türkçesi kökenli olup, Belgun takma adı da “bilge” anlamına gelen Türkçe “bilgün”den türemiştir. Asen de dahil olmak üzere hanedandaki isimlerden bazıları Kuman dilinden türemiştir. Kuman boyları 10. ve 13. yüzyıllar arasında Balkanların pek çok bölgesine yerleşmiş ve yerel nüfusla karışmış, ve de ardından diğer Bulgar hanedanlıklarını kurmuşlardır. (Terterler ve Shishmanlar)
